Crewed – A dedicated skipper and crew come with the yacht and included in the quoted price.
Cabin charter – You hire a private cabin and share the boat with other guests and a crew.
Monohull – single hull yacht

Motor yacht – yacht without any sails
Superyacht – a boat over 30m in length

Length over all (LOA) – the overall length of the hull.
Beam/Breadth – the widest point of the deck.
Draft – the maximum depth under the water.
Helm – the steering/control position.
Galley – the nautical term for the kitchen.
Head – is the nautical term for toilet/bathroom.
Wet Head – means that the sink and toilet get wet when you use the shower.
Cabin – can be double, single or bunk bedrooms.
Sundeck – the top deck on the yacht.
Swim platform – area located in the aft close to the waterline.
Passarelle – the passageway you walk on from the dock to the yacht.
Fenders – plastic or rubber gear used to prevent a damage to either the dock or the boat.
Sheets – ropes used to control the sails.
Lines – ropes used to moor the boat up.
Cleat/bollard – used to tie the mooring lines to on the dock or side of the boat.
Freshwater – water used for drinking/washing.
Blackwater – waste water.
Knots – nautical miles per hour.
Nautical mile – 1.852Km, 1.15 miles or one minute of latitude.
