Superyacht

The crème de la crème of the yachting experience. All your wants and desires will be taken care in 5-star luxury by the attentive crew. A superyacht by definition is any yacht above 24m, however, these also include mega yachts, 60m+ and gigi yachts, 90m+.

On a Superyacht, there is nothing too much to ask. From the finest menu each night to a full range of water toys to keep you entertained during the day. With all charters booked with Hinde and Kitch, your broker will be on call until you are safely back ashore to answer any needs or queries.

Catamaran

These are very stable yachts, with two hulls they offer the perfect platform for young families and people who enjoy the water on a level surface. Typically catamarans can access shallower water than monohulls, ideal for chartering in the Caribbean.

A typical cabin layout is 2 forward, 2 aft and two single cabins in each bow; with additional cabins in the middle on larger yachts. The galley and dining area is located on the main deck, with 360 views of the water and the integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces creates a seamless transition between the two.

Monohull

A monohull provides you with the most authentic sailing experience, being one with the water and the weather. Ideal for small groups, older families and able-bodied guests.

The typical cabin layout is 2-5 cabins with a galley below and an outdoor eating area on the aft deck. Monohulls have slightly limited sunbathing areas compared to other types of vessels.

Gulet

Typically found in the East Mediterranean, these traditional boats provide a perfect base for larger family holidays. These are always crewed with up to 14 guests, they are a great way to entertain your whole family and friends without blowing the budget.

Typically, all the guest cabins are below, with an inside lounge aft and an alfresco dining table outside under cover.

Power Boat

It's ideal for those wanting to island hop quickly. With speeds in excess of 25 knots, they reduce distances between Greek islands to a matter of minutes. Usually, for more experienced skippers and on the higher end of the budget.

Power boats come with higher ceiling heights and a higher quality of finish, similar to what you would find on dry land. They come in all shapes and sizes and there is no typical cabin layout.

Charter types

  • Crewed

A crewed yacht charter offers a luxury sailing experience with a dedicated captain, chef, and crew handling navigation, dining, and hospitality. Guests enjoy gourmet meals, personalised service, and a bespoke itinerary for the ultimate private getaway.

Costs include the charter fee plus an Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) of 20-30%, covering food, drinks, and fuel. The APA is prepaid and managed by the captain, with unused funds refunded. Every detail is tailored for a seamless and unforgettable journey.

  • Bareboat

A bareboat charter is ideal for experienced sailors seeking complete freedom on the water. With no crew onboard, guests handle navigation, anchoring, and provisioning, creating a fully independent sailing adventure. Whether exploring hidden coves or open-water sailing, the itinerary is entirely up to you.

Charter costs cover the yacht rental, while fuel, mooring fees, and provisions are managed separately. A valid sailing qualification or experience is usually required, making this the perfect choice for those who enjoy adventure and the thrill of captaining their own yacht.

  • Skippered

A skippered yacht charter is perfect for those who want to sail without handling navigation. A professional skipper ensures a safe, relaxed journey while sharing local knowledge of the best anchorages and hidden spots. Guests can create their own itinerary, from exploring coastal towns to swimming in secluded bays.

The skipper stays onboard and requires a cabin, and while meals aren’t provided, it’s customary to include them in dining plans. Guests can choose to dine onboard or at local restaurants, with evenings spent at marinas or anchorages.

  • Flotilla

A flotilla holiday offers independent sailing while traveling in a group of yachts, all following the same route under the guidance of a lead crew. Each yacht is privately chartered, allowing guests to sail at their own pace while enjoying the support of an experienced team who provide daily briefings, assistance, and local knowledge. Evenings are often spent in the same harbours or anchorages, creating a sociable but flexible experience.

Charter costs cover the yacht rental, with fuel, mooring fees, and provisions paid separately. While some sailing experience is recommended, many flotillas don’t require formal qualifications, making them ideal for those who want to explore new waters with the reassurance of a support network nearby.

  • Cabin

A cabin charter is a great way to experience yacht sailing without needing to charter an entire boat. Guests book a private cabin on a crewed yacht, sharing the vessel with other travellers while a professional crew handles navigation, dining, and hospitality. It’s an ideal option for solo travellers, couples, or small groups looking for a hassle-free sailing holiday with a set itinerary.

The cost includes the cabin, crew services, and most meals, with extras like drinks and excursions paid separately. With no sailing experience required, a cabin charter offers a relaxed and sociable way to explore stunning destinations while enjoying the comfort and convenience of a crewed yacht.
