A Saronic Gulf sailing experience

COUNTRY: Greece

CHARTER LENGTH: 6 Days, 183Nm

SAILING TIME: Medium

Aerial sunset view of the small island Ydrousa off the coast of Voula, south Athens, Greece, popular anchoring point for sailors and yachts
  • Day 1

    Athens to Poros, 34Nm

As two separate islands joined together by a bridge, these islands boast incredibly lush, green backdrops and a selection of pretty beaches. Strolling around the streets, you can get your first impression of the small family-run businesses which appear at every corner and the attractive neoclassical architecture.

  • Day 2

    Poros to Spetses, 50Nm

Belonging to the Saronic gulf, this part of Greece has a different taste to the Cycladic one with trees close to the sea and tranquil water. Enjoy lunch on board your charter yacht before cruising to the main port where you will spend the night. There is a wonderful opportunity here to take an excursion through the old town on a chariot. From 1821 to 1832 Spetses Isla played an important role in the Greek War of Independence in fighting against the Turks, and was the home of celebrated war heroine Bouboulina.

  • Day 3

    Spetses to Nafpilo, 19Nm

One of the most beautiful towns in the area of Argolis (in eastern Peloponnese) as well as one of the most romantic cities all over Greece, Nafplio was the first capital of the newly born Greek state between 1823 and 1834.

  • Day 4

    Nafpilo to Hydra, 32Nm

Away from cruise ships and mainstream tourists, the island of Hydra is noticeably quieter than many other islands you will visit because there are no cars allowed here. The only vehicles you will see are rubbish disposal related. Walking through the streets you can once again enjoy the charm of the local people and their businesses, which highly depend on the visitors to the island.

  • Day 5

    Hyrda to Aegina, 27Nm

The centre of the island is Aegina Town, the picturesque capital of Aegina. Boasting elegant Neoclassical buildings, narrow alleys and a bustling seafront promenade, Aegina Town is perfect for summer strolls!

  • Day 6

    Aegina to Athens, 21Nm

Once the heart of one of the most powerful civilisations, Athens is dominated by colossal architectural feats of the ancient past, from the Acropolis to the Temple of Olympian Zeus. However, the neighbourhoods and backstreets of Athens reveal a delightfully modern and laidback energy, with lively urban restaurants and edgy galleries, set against relics of a bygone era.
