Sailing in Guadeloupe offers a mix of calm Caribbean waters, steady trade winds, and diverse cruising grounds. The island is shaped like a butterfly, with Grande-Terre offering beaches and nightlife while Basse-Terre has mountains and lush rainforests. Popular sailing destinations include Les Saintes for charming anchorages, Marie-Galante for secluded beaches, and La Désirade for off-the-beaten-path exploration.

Navigation is straightforward, but care is needed with reefs and currents. Pointe-à-Pitre is the best spot for provisioning and customs clearance. Moorings are available in most anchorages to protect coral, and marinas offer good services. Respecting local marine parks, understanding French basics, and enjoying the rich Creole culture make for a fantastic sailing experience.
